Waldorf Construction Update (8/27/2010)

Dear CWS Community,

We're almost finished with our building project; in fact, we had hoped to be finished by the start of school but got tripped up late in the game by some unforeseen easement issues with regard to water and sewer (among other construction related issues that take nearly as much effort to explain as to resolve).  In short order we'll all be able to occupy these beautiful and functional new spaces, but in the meantime please exercise caution by remaining outside the construction areas until further notice.  We ask for your forbearance and patience and we finish up the finer details of this eight-years-in-the-making project!

With volunteer help, we've been able to make the top floor of the Library and Arts Building much more "finished" than we thought.  The other good news is that a basketball court will be installed by the end of the week, thanks to a parent at CWS who secured its donation.

We appreciate the many kind words expressed to us this summer as people take delight in the fruit of our labor.  Rudolf Steiner, and Plato before him, placed great value in the three verities: Truth, Beauty, and Goodness.  We have tried to keep these in mind as we planned for, anticipated, endured and rejoiced in the building of this second phase of the "Greenest Campus" project.  We hope to make the children, teachers, donors, parent body and alumni proud.
