Waldorf Construction Update (8/8/2010)

Dear CWS Community,

It has been more than a few weeks since we've provided information about our building project.  The contruction itself is right on schedule, though we've run into some site-work delays with regard to sewer and water issues.  So, we're not sure how this will affect our ability to get a certificate of occupancy by the end of August.  We are pushing now for a temporary certificate of occupancy; we will know more in the coming weeks and will communicate with you as soon as we have new information to report.

In the meantime, we're gathering volunteers in a variety of ways. Our most immediate need at the moment is for donated tiles -- particularly colorful tiles, broken or whole. Parent Aimee Hunt is laying tile in mosaic design for the bathrooms in the second floor of the Library & Arts Building. In the next few days, please leave any donated tile under the pergola at CWS. We need the tile THIS WEEK.

If you are able to lend a hand by volunteering to do painting, landscaping or the like, please respond to this email. We are lining up crews to work on the Saturdays and Sundays of this month.

On the fundraising front, we're just $80K short of making our Perry Foundation match of $150K.
