Charlottesville Waldorf Community,

This message is being brought to you by the Charlottesville Waldorf Foundation. The project is in full-swing, as earth-moving machines grace the landscape with agility and efficiency. Within the next ten days, we expect the foundation to be poured and exterior basement walls installed, marking the first stage of our "Passive House" design. Please use caution when on campus, reminding children to stay clear of the site, which is marked by orange, temporary fencing.

Also, please exercise restraint when feeling the need to clap for the men-at-work -- a wave will do. If you happen to have "Men-at-Work" playing in your car at pick-up, that's a bonus.

As you know, we are building a pavilion, and a two-story building with a library on the first floor, and much-needed open space on the top floor. The top floor will require volunteers from our community to finish the finer details – like frame-work, dry-wall, mudding, taping and trim work, bathroom fixture installation and painting. (We already have folks committed to take this on, and a few others we're about to call!) If we can complete this work by the end of the summer, that second floor will be ready to receive our already-accomplished middle school orchestra.

In the meantime, the campus and the classrooms will need sprucing and maintenance, so CWS "Work Days" are in order. Our first scheduled is the weekend of April 17 and 18 (with April 24-25 as rain dates).

By the time our project is complete, we hope the entire community will have had a hand in bringing it all to fruition.
